I see this a lot and I get asked by other people if it is a good thing to do and that is should a person just NOT eat to lose weight ?? Well, the answer is a resounding NO !! Hell NO !!

This is actually one of the worst things you can do. When you stop eating you throw your metabolism off kilter. Things like your Insulin levels can get out of whack and in the long run you can end up gaining much more weight and fat than before.

However, do not get me wrong. There are seasoned health enthusiast who do fast on a regular basis. Many of these people follow a strict and disciplined fasting regimen. They do it in a way that cleanses out their body and in the long run they can  benefit from this kind of fasting. Don’t confuse this with someone who recklessly starves themselves on and off in no well thought out plan. This is a recipe for disaster.

The best way to lose weight is to eat an abundance of good foods  like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and keep the carbs down to a minimum.

This stuff is not rocket science. Just listen to your body and incorporate a wide range of good , nutritional food to your diet.

Also along with this, make sure you develop a long term exercise regimen that you can do week in and week out for years. I know we keep repeating this,  but  it is just very important and can mean the difference between a healthy and fulfilling Life and one that is  miserable .

If you can only walk twice a week then just stick with that for awhile. However, you may need to appropriately adjust what you eat compared to someone who runs four times a week.   Obviously they will be able to consume more calories because they are burning more off !! :)
