Its a brand new year and with it comes the hope of changing things in our lives that will have a positive impact for a long time coming.  Here are a few things you can do to change the shape of your body in a positive way.

WALKING – Walking is just a fabolous exercise all the way around. Compared to Running it puts less stress on your feet and joints and you can walk at a brisk pace to get your Heart pumping good. I think this is probable the ideal exercise for most people to implement in their Lifestyles. You can almost do it anywhere and at anytime.

SWIMMING – This is another great low impact exercise that I strongly encourage people to try out. It will work your Lungs and Heart very strenuosly and keep the knees intact compared to Running.

BOXING – Now you dont have to have an opponenet to participate in boxing. Maybe just a punching bag that you can purchase at a local Sports store. If done right you can burn more calories with shadow boxing than any other kind of activity. It will simply wear you out.

PUSH UPS, PULL UPS, AND SIT UPS – These 3 exercises are something that will help increase the lean muscle on your body. This is so important because the more lean muscle you have the more your body burns calories in resting mode. You can perform these in the comfort of your home and they can be as effective as any kind of machine and free weight.

Well we just finished the first week of the new year, 2011. Iam just curious how some of you guys are getting the year started off ?

For me I have not really had my regular appetite so the weight has been melting off me especially with regular exercise. I know a lot of you are really getting serious since the new year in trying to really lose the weight and stay healthy. Its a battlle that I fight everyday as many of you do so too.

There is nothing wrong with going on a diet for a few weeks to help jumpstart your health goals. You see the same thing with The Biggest Loser and I dont have a problem with that.

The problem I have is when people hop around to different diets over a period of time hoping to find a magic cure to lose weight. You will find only disappointment with this and it will not work in the long run. The key is changing your Lifestyle and the way you think. Eating a rich blends of food including fresh fruit and vegetables with lean proteins and low fat is required. Adopting this and doing it day by day and month by month is the only legitimate way to stay on top of your weight and health.

This along with adopting some form of aerobic exercise that makes you sweat and gets your heart pumpming is a must. NO shortcuts in the long run.

I hope you guys had a good productive first week for 2011 and remember to  carry it on through the rest of the year with a positive mental state!
