What are the best times to consume Carbohydrates ?? But really, there is only one. Well, this is when your body is primed to deal with them at the most optimal period !!

This occurs in the:

2.After some pretty intense exercising !


For one thing a lot of testing by experts show that glucose tolerance is highest in the morning , which makes it quite obvious that if you are going to eat a lot of your daily Carbs to do it in the morning for breakfast when you body can best process it !!

And if you are someone who eats frequently meals during the day then the mid morning would be the best way to go.So bottom line eat your daily Carbs in the morning and not the afternoon or night !!

The only exception to this is when you perform highly intense exercising.

It would be safe to say that the best actual time to consume your daily Carbs is right after a sweat and tears workout ! After this exercise in the 1 to  2 hour window your body will suck up the Carbs for recovery, the replenishment of energy, and other processes in the body that involve anabolics.

Here is just a quick sample of some routines that will be “carb friendly” to both people  who exercise  and people who do not exercise ! Compliments of Workout specialist Joel Marion.

Exercise Days

Breakfast:  protein/carbs
Mid-morning:  protein/fat
Lunch:  protein/fat
Mid-afternoon:  protein/fat
Evening (after exercise): protein/carbs
Pre-bed: protein/fat

Breakfast:  protein/carbs
Mid-morning:  protein/carbs
Lunch:  protein/fat
Mid-afternoon:  protein/fat
Evening: protein/fat

Hormone Growth Hormone or HGH is a hormone created in your body and it has many, many benefits including losing fat and putting on lean muscle.

Here are three ways that work in combination to increase HGH and thus helps you lose the fat !!

1. Intermittent Fasting – Contrary to what many have said or been taught intermittent fasting can be a great way, if done properly,to increase HGH and  lose weight and burn the fat. Of course caloric restriction is a good part of intermittent fasting that will help drop the pounds ,but with the other two variables I will discuss  they will all synergistically  increase human growth hormone and lose the fat !!

2. Sleeping – Well, just sleeping alone will increase the amount of HGH in your body. Thats prettty neat,uh !! Just Sleep and lose weight !! :) That is truth !!

3. Training with weights – Of course this is a great way to increase HGH and help you shred those pounds. The best time to do it is after you have had a good sleep, done some fasting and skipped breakfast. And Between 12 and 1pm do some lifting or other beneficial muscle exercises.

Now here is really the great thing and that is combining these all at once is like the perfect storm for losing body fat !! Wake up from sleep. skip breakfast and then workout. It takes some discipline and work but it will get you slim and in good shape.

Just be sure to not over do this as you do not want to dehydrate yourself . So start off doing it once a month and see how it goes.

Hey guys you know my mantra is balance, balance, balance. Especially when it comes  down on to how to lose belly fat !!

Well, I went beyond that 2 days ago on Valentines Days. Me and wifey got some good ole babysitters ( her parents lol) and proceeded to have a romantic and fun filled Valentines night.

Well, our choice of restaraunts came down to the Cheese Cake Factory. We felt like it wasn’t too swanky but yet it was still a decently upscaled place to dine with your better half on V. Day !

My wife ordered a salad with a nice turkey burger and sweet potato fries which is a great example on how to lose belly fat . Well, I got an appetizer which consisted of 10 huge and delicious wings. She had a couple of them while I anxiously downed the remaining eight of these behemoth wings.

For my main course, I had some grilled salmon and broccoli and sweet potatoes top of that. We had great conversation , and it was quite wonderful time  to get out and be by ourselves.

After we consumed our meals the big question came up ? Should we get a piece of  the world renowned cheesecake ? I definitely wanted some , but my wife said she would pass on any. So I ordered the most decadent slice. The white , macademian,  caramel slice. Wow is all can say. It was so incredibly RICH !! My wife ended up having a couple of bites. But I consumed the rest. It must have been 1,400 calories for that one slice. Thats a typical example of not how to lose belly fat !!!  ;)

Anyway, I had a stomach ache that continued til that next morning I was so stuffed !! It was NO fun at all.

So words of wisdom here…….. enjoy life and enjoy your food and keep a balance. But on your indulgent days do not overdue it to the point that you are sick !! That is not the way of how to lose belly fat,  PERIOD !!

I learned my lesson.

I get a lot of questions about cheat days and what people can and should eat on this day. Of course, cheat days our days you can splurge and a eat little more of your favorite  foods than normally. And balance it out the next day with good eating like salads and veggies.

It seems there is a quite a lot people who are using cheat days as a period not to just indulge in their favorite foods but also to drink a pretty good amount of alcohol on top of it.

Well, I can tell you from experience this is NOT a good idea.

The real purpose of cheat days is to ‘unregulate’ the lepton levels in your body, reseting the metabolism levels, and creating a hormonal environment that is condusive to burn fat , straight out !

Alcohol consumption in large amounts pretty much nullifies all of these factors that burn fat ! And it actually lowers the plasma leptin levels which contrasts all the factors we have just mentioned. And this does the opposite of what we want to create with Cheat Day.

The result of all this is simple :

Cheat Day + Large consumption of Alcohol = Big fat gain.

Now if you want to go and have a drink or two or even three for big boned people on Cheat day, thats fine. But going out and slamming back a six back or having 2 or 3 Long Island Teas then be prepared for the consequences of Fat Gain !!

The sign of whether or not you have drank to much alcohol is whether or not you get somewhat of a buzz.

In the end, Alcohol is a metabolism slower and it will create fat anyway you look at it especially when you are splurging on ‘fun food’ !

If you are going to eat a late night pizza please do not consume much alcohol on top of it !! ;)
